Horse riding has been restricted on most of our beaches over the last few years.

The Cape Cod National Seashore & Sandy Neck Beach have both decided not to allow riding of horses on the beach any time between May 15th & October 15th.

Cape Cod National Seashore in Provincetown has a horse path that is not maintained.

You can ride your horse by the Cape Cod Rail Trail (South Dennis to Wellfleet), 508.896.3491
but not on it.
(This is a bicycle & foot path but there are a few small areas where you must bring your horse on the Trail.)

in Brewster has some maintained horse riding trails (mostly old roads) where you can ride your horse. On other trails, again you can ride by the trail, but not on it.

There are good, private stables and riding academies.

A year-round equestrian center that offers instruction & trail rides in the wooded Punkhorn
Parklands. They take care of beginners, & the horses are reliable steady.
Trail rides are $40. an hour.

They board horses & have a lovely network of trails.
The trails are only for use by those who board horses.

The group rate for lessons is $17 per hour, semi-private rates for lessons are $30 per
half-hour.
